Upload from GoPros
Survae supports video and still images recorded with the GoPro Hero 5, 6 and 7. These cameras offer great video quality, a built in GPS for location, and motion sensors, but do not include a compass for magnetic heading.
Data is embedded right into the video files, which are saved onto the SD card. Drag and drop any video or image into your account and it will be fully mapped. It’s that simple.
Video or still images can be uploaded directly from your device's micro-SD card to the Survae platform or from your computer.
1. To upload imagery from these devices to Survae, please first log in to your account at http://world.survae.com.
2. Connect the micro-SD card from your camera to a card reader attached to your computer to find the file(s) you wish to upload. If the files are already on your computer, navigate to the folder where the files are located.
3. You can either drag-and-drop the files right onto your account or click on the blue up-arrow in the header to the right of the Survae logo.
4. Once the file upload begins, you'll see a window indicating the upload status. Please be sure to keep your browser window open during the upload process.
DO NOT LEAVE THE PAGE while the file is uploading. Leaving the page will interrupt the upload process. You can open another tab or window in your browser or do other work on your computer, but be sure to leave the browser window open to the page when any files are uploading in Survae.
Uploading video files will take time, especially for long videos. The speed with which a video file uploads depends on two factors: how fast your Internet connection is and how recent your computer is. Still images will upload much more quickly, of course.
After a video file has finished uploading, it will start processing. When the processing is complete, the video will be connected to its data. The processed video will contain a description and a path will be displayed on the map. Your video will have a temporary title associated with the location where it was recorded. You can change this title at any time by going into the Edit function for the video.
